ALHem je u avgustu otpočeo implementaciju projekta „Jačanje kapaciteta i strateškog partnerstva za bezbedno upravljanje hemikalijama u Republici Srbiji“.
Achievements: Strengthened capacities of all relevant stakeholders; Raised awareness of the general public on the issue of preventive actions, consumer rights and implementation of legislation; Performed analysis and reported results of compliance of products that can contain phthalates in relation to the Law on Chemicals.
The project has been implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection in collaboration with the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and in partnership with the Civil Society Organisation (CSO) from Serbia “ALHem –Safer Chemicals Alternative” and with international organisation “WECF” – Women in Europe for a Common Future.

Cilj projekta je dalja izgradnja kapaciteta i jačanje saradnje između državnih organa (posebno ministarstava nadležnih za upravljanje hemikalijama, zdravlje i zaštitu potrošača), organizacija civilnog društva i drugih zainteresovanih strana radi poboljšanja kvaliteta proizvoda i unapređenja njihove hemijske bezbednosti. Projekat će podržati primenu javnih politika i zakonodavstva u oblasti upravljanja hemikalija, putem izgradnje kapaciteta zainteresovanih strana, kao što su organizacije civilnog društva, organizacije za zaštitu potrošača, mediji, naučnici i zdravstveni radnici koji se smatraju ključnim za uspešnu implementaciju.
Ovaj projekat se finansira iz sredstava programa za Strateški pristup međunarodnom upravljanju hemikalijama (Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management Quick Start Programme– SAICM QSP). Projektne aktivnosti će se realizovati u saradnji sa Programom Ujedinjenih nacija za razvoj (UNDP), Ministarstvu poljoprivrede i zaštite životne sredine (MPŽS), kao i međunarodnom organizacije civilnog društva „Women in Europe for a Common Future“ (WECF).
U okviru projekta održaće se nekoliko tematskih radionica namenjenih obuci organizacija civilnog društva, zdravstvenih radnika i novinara. Rezultati projekta će biti prezentovani na regionalna konferenciji za Zapadni Balkan u Beogradu. U okviru projekta pripremiće se nekoliko publikacija o štetnim hemikalijama u proizvodima i razviće se internet prezentacija ministarstva nadležnog za životnu sredinu o hemijskoj bezbednosti proizvoda. Takođe sprovešće se i kampanja za podizanje svesti o hemikalijama u proizvodima „Izbori se da znaš“.
